Emergency & Escape Lighting

A guide light is a general term for a combination of both an escape exit guide light and an aisle guide light. Emergency lighting fixtures are separate from guide lights and are used to brighten the evacuation passage to a level that can be evacuated. Both are necessary to help evacuate in the event of a power outage or disaster, and the building standards are set by the Building Standards Act. Escape exit guide lights are green with a white symbol indicating an emergency exit, or with a white symbol mark on a green background. Aisle guide lights are installed at regular intervals in the evacuation passage. The emergency lighting has a built-in battery, so it automatically lights up in the event of a power outage, ensuring that it can be safely evacuated.
