Threading

Thread cutting is the process of forming external or internal threads in a workpiece. When threading using a lathe, a threading bit is usually used. A thread cutting tool is fitted with an insert that has a thread cutting edge with a specified angle at the tip. The thread cutting process is the work of deepening and cutting the same position with the same pitch using a thread cutting tool. There are various types of inserts depending on the shape of the cutting edge and the length and thickness of the cutting edge. The shape of the cutting edge is rhombus, circle, equilateral triangle, etc.
