Drill Drift Keys

Drill drift is a tool used to remove a cutting tool such as a drill attached to a machine tool. It has a slender shape with a sharp tip, and is convenient for loosening and pulling out a tapered shank drill that fits securely in a drill sleeve or drill socket. Insert the tip of the drill drift vertically into a horizontal hole called cotter hole in the sleeve or socket, and hit the body with a hammer to loosen the joint. Uses steel such as low carbon steel with high hardness and weight.
