An EPDM mooring snover that acts as a shock absorber for mooring ropes. This rubber snover absorbs the force applied to the shock when an abnormal force acts on the rope due to a gust such as a typhoon and the rope is damaged.
The material is a synthetic rubber called ethylene polypropylene rubber, which has excellent weather resistance and water resistance.
By wrapping it around the rope in this way, it absorbs the impact. Excessive impact can damage the snover, which is the result of a good release of the load on the rope.
It does not mean that it is a defective product because it means that the rope was sacrificed to break.
